For the week of March 3-9
Blueprints - Introduction
Scripture This Week:
Titus 1:1-4 (NIV)
1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness— 2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, 3 and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,
4 To Titus, my true son in our common faith:
Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
Main Thought This Week:
Paul says quite a lot in the first few verses of his letter to Titus. His opening remarks tell us that like him, we as Christians are servants of the Lord in that we are "slaves", sent, selected, and sanctified (set apart). Verses 2 and 3 tell us that we are secure in the Lord. We have His witness and His word, and He has promised us the hope of eternal life. Finally, like Titus we are separated unto the Lord because of our common faith.
- What stood out to you from this week's message?
- What does it mean to be a servant or slave to God? What does this look like practically?
- What does it look like to be separated (sanctified, set apart) unto the Lord?
- What is a practical step you can take or change you can make in light of these truths?
