Life Group Guide - 10.28.18
For the week of Oct 28 - Nov 3
Not A Fan - Now and Later
Scripture This Week:
1 Thessalonians 4:16 (NIV)
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
2 Peter 3:13 (NIV)
But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
Main Thought This Week:
We live in a tension - a time between an eternity with Jesus when He returns, and the way things are now.
One day He will come back personally, bodily, triumphant, and unexpectedly. This is something to be longed for, because He is the only thing that can truly save the world!
At the same time, we need to consider where we are now. By keeping an eternal perspective, we can see current circumstances in light of the future. We must prepare this future reality and bear fruit along the way. Finally, we must be hopeful! We know that regardless of circumstance, the best is yet to come.
