Blueprints - The Grace of God

Scripture This Week:

Titus 2:11-15 (ESV)

11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.

15 Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.

Main Thought This Week:

This passage tells us about the impact God’s grace has on us as Christians. God’s Grace teaches us how we should live. It “trains us” (v12) to leave behind worldly things and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives. It teaches us where we should look: we should be fixated on Jesus and look for His return. It teaches us that He is Lord. Finally, it teaches us what we should learn, and what we should declare to others.

We should live in such a way that what He has done is not so distant a memory, and the certainty of His return and our eternity with Him would compel us to live In such a way to lead others to Him.

Discussion Questions:

  1. What stood out to you from this week’s message?
  2. What are some examples of God’s grace working in these ways from your own life? (Teaching how we should live, where we should focus [Jesus], knowing He is Lord, and teaching us what we should learn).
  3. What change or next step you see Him leading you towards next?
  4. Who has He put on your heart to tell the good news of His grace?
