Grace & Peace For Our City
At Grace City Eugene, our heart is simple yet profound: to help every person in our spheres of influence encounter Christ, experience biblical community, and extend God's kingdom. Rooted in our vision to help people find and follow Jesus, we believe our city longs for something deeper than performance, division, or striving. It longs for the grace and peace that can only come from God.
In a world often marked by anxiety, division, and exhaustion, the message of Philippians 1:1–2 reminds us of a foundational truth:
Because of God's grace, we can live in God's peace.
The Apostle Paul's greeting - "Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ" - is more than a polite formality. It's a theological declaration.
As scholar Gordon Fee writes:
“The sum total of God's activity toward his human creation is found in the word 'grace'... and the sum total of those benefits, experienced by the recipients of God's grace, is 'peace.'"
Grace is the unearned, bountiful gift of God’s presence and favor through Christ. Peace (or Shalom) is the wholeness, rest, and flourishing that naturally flow from that grace.
Together, grace and peace embody the heart of the gospel we live and proclaim.
This is the story we want our city to encounter - not a performance -based religion, but a transforming relationship with the living God.
It’s why we prioritize:
Lordship: Submitting every part of our lives to Jesus.
Evangelism: Sharing the hope of grace and peace with a searching world.
Discipleship: Growing as a people shaped by the gospel.
Leadership Development: Raising leaders who live out grace and peace in their homes, neighborhoods, and vocations.
Family: Reflecting God’s heart through Christ-centered relationships.
At Grace City Eugene, we long to usher in the grace and peace of God across kitchen tables, campuses, and city streets.
Come join the story God is writing in and through our city.
Grace and peace to you.
