UH Mānoa Mission Trip

Grace City Eugene has been invited by Pearlside Church and their local ENC Chapter to bring a team to support their campus ministry at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa in August of 2024. The 2020 pandemic produced extended difficulties for the Hawaiian Islands in many shapes and sizes, and the ENC Chapter with Pearlside Church was not exempt to these troubles. We have been invited to provide support as they seek to regain the momentum they have had in campus ministry for decades.

Our trip will take place August 19th-26th, the opening week of class for Fall Semester at UH Mānoa. The trip activities will include evangelism, tabling, spiritual surveying, and promoting a launch event that participants will attend at the end of the week. Trip participants will also attend a Sunday service at Pearlside, a church that has provided care and support for Grace City Eugene since our launch.

Our Trip at a Glance

  • Depart Eugene for Hawaii and attend a Welcome Dinner with the ENC Team from UH Mānoa.

  • Evangelism day on campus at UH Mānoa.

  • Evangelism day on campus at UH Mānoa.

  • Evangelism day on campus at UH Mānoa.

  • ENC Event and/or Pearlside Youth Event.

  • ENC Event and/or Pearlside Youth Event.

  • Attend Pearlside Church worship service.

  • Depart Hawaii to travel home to Eugene.

Participation Goal

Our goal is to bring a team of 12-18 individuals to serve on this trip. Participants must be 18 years or older. While the focus of this trip is campus ministry, we invite and encourage non-students to prayerfully consider participating in this trip as well.

Cost

The cost to participate in this trip is TBD. While you are welcome to pay out of pocket, we encourage all participants to use MPD (Ministry of Partnership Development) to raise funds to be sent as a missionary would. Each individual will be responsible for raising their own portion to contribute towards the team’s ultimate cost to be sent to Hawai’i. This cost covers airfare[1], lodging, meals, and ground transportation.

[1] Airfare included in this trip cost covers a group ticket rate out of Eugene, Oregon. If a participant requires additional travel to get to Eugene, they will be responsible to raise funds / pay for their additional travel.
